These affordable 4 - Channel Wireless Alarm & Alert systems inform the home & business owner, to the presence of a visitor, customer or problem.
There is a great choice of battery operated detectors ranging from External & Internal PIR's, Magnetic Door Contacts, Water Detectors, Wireless Sirens & Temperature Sensors all with a working radio range of 80 metres (line of sight) with up to 16 detectors working with any one receiver. .
This XL Driveway Alarm system has a unique feature that allows you to use different sensors in different ways, at different times of the day, choosing between Chime, Full Alarm or both at the same time.
The receiver has a built in user keypad for easy setting of the alarm mode, the option for back up batteries for use through powercuts and remote control operation.

Using our years of experience with Driveway Alarms, we have designed a simple rubber hood that slides over the PIR, this gives even better water protection for the damp UK weather, better cosmetic looks and more importantly allows the fan pattern to be adjusted very easily by using scissors to suit everyones individual requirements.

Fitting Note:
Motion Sensor should be fitted using the ball joint bracket provided and placed at a height of 4 -5 ft. Then adjust the angle to suit. Set the angle to about 12 degrees from the vertical for maximum detection area and a smaller angle for more precise detection and to avoid unwanted activations.
Batteries required (not included) :
PIR Sensor Unit - 1 x 9v battery
Receiver Unit - Plugs straight into the mains using the adapter which is included however, 4 AAA batteries are required in case of mains failure.

INSTALLATION:

TOOLS REQUIRED: Small Phillips head screwdriver.

MOTION DETECTOR:
Undo the retaining screw & slide off battery cover and install 1 x 9 volt battery. Reinstall cover and screw. The unit requires 45 seconds to re-set itself when the battery is first connected.
Mount detector onto a solid surface, approximately 5-6 feet from the ground. Remember the range of the PIR Sensor is up to 10 meters so it is best to mount the detector so that it has no view of street traffic. This unit should not be mounted so that the sun shines directly onto the lens surface.
1. Plug the Receiver unit into the mains using the provided adaptor. Turn main switch (located on side of unit) to 'OFF' - 'CHIME' or alert.
2. Place the Receiver within range of the motion detector or detectors, remember any walls or obstructions will cut down the range of the radio signal, so for best results place the Receiver and Motion Detector as close in range to each other as possible.
RECEIVER:
In 'OFF' mode the unit will only flash the corresponding red LED without sound.
In 'CHIME' mode the unit will emit a single chime sound (bing-bong) and the corresponding red channel LED will flash for approximately 13 seconds.
In 'ALERT' mode the unit will emit an alert signal in accordance with the channel activated (one beep for Ch1 and two beeps for Ch2 and 3 beeps for Ch3 etc.) and these beeps, together with the corresponding red flashing LED will continue for about 13 seconds.
To stop the alarm you simply key in your own 4 digit code into the Receiver.
Note: Channel 4 will only ever give an 'ALERT' signal no matter if the Receiver is set to ALARM, so bear that in mind when setting the unit up.

Our XL Alarm & Alert System, we can now offer a very versatile alarm system that allows business and home owners to have an audible and visual alert from up to 16 detectors for when a visitor arrives, and then with a simple press of a switch or remote control you can have 12 of the detectors in full armed condition that will trigger a 100Db siren or wireless voice dialer.
It is also possible to have a mixture of these 12 detectors ranging from PIR's, Door & Window Magnetic Contacts, Water Leakage Sensors and Temperature Senors. Whilst these 12 detectors are in the armed condition you can still utilize the 4 sensors that are still operating as an alert warning signal.
The wireless sensors & detectors are all battery powered and transmit using 433 Mhz.

The receivers plug into a standard 13-amp wall socket, and can use 4 x AAA batteries as back up for any power failures and give an audible and visual alert when a detector sends a relevant signal, it also alllows you to distinguish between the four areas.
When the wireless alarm receiver is in the disarmed mode, you can select a chime, bleep or silent setting to allow you to have areas still covered, very popular with elderly customers or businesses with risk entrances.
When the wireless alarm system is in the armed home setting, all sensors and detectors will be working apart from the PIR's, this allows you to arm the perimeter of your home whilst still being able to fully move around.
The wireless alarm system has a 45 second exit delay when setting the system to full arm (away arm) and a 30 second entry delay allowing you full access to the wireless receiver for disarming.
You can arm and disarm the system using the built in 4-digit keypad or remote control.
The 4-digit code can be self set allowing you to have a secure easy to remember code.

What Are Driveway Alarms !!
Our Driveway Alarms are basically wireless battery operated detectors that signal back to the house or office alerting the home or business owner to the presence of a visitor, these visitors may be welcome guests or customers, they may be very un-welcome persons. The detectors are always powered by battery making them easy systems to install, the receivers are normally plugged into a 13-amp wall socket although some battery operated portable units are available.
The signal can be silent so only the homeowner knows, or it can be made to be audible and/or visual. You can choose multiple detectors going back to one receiver, or one detector going back to multiple receivers to suit your needs & applications.
They are relatively new to the UK, but have been used in the USA for many years, they are however becoming very popular here as they are seen as the first line of defence, we are often told that it is to late when the burgular alarm inside the house is triggered, they are already in.

Detectors !!
Q) Choose what, where & how you want to detect !!
A) The PIR of the XL system is designed to be mounted at a height of 2 - 4 meters looking down towards the ground, ideally suited for home perimeter detection or above a door, the sensor has a fan pattern (but can be reduced using the hood).

Q) Are the PIR's fully weatherproof ?
A) Yes it is weatherproof, but we always advised installing it in a slightly sheltered location, now with the introduction of our special PIR hood this doesn't matter, you can fit it anywhere.


Q) Detection pattern, can we adjust it ?
A) Yes, we have introduced a new rubber hood that slides over the top of the PIR, this has a small hole in it the size of a 5 pence bit to reduce picking up small animals, neighbours, traffic etc, if you need to increase it simple open the hole up using scissors (very simple).
A) The XL can also be used with door & window detectors.

Q) Choose how many detectors you need.
A) You can have up to 16 detectors working on any receiver, utilizing the four channels we can have 4 sensors per channel, but it is important to understand that channel four on this system is only ever an alert system, the other three channels can be used as an alarm system with a PIR, or an alarm and/or alert system using the windown, water & temperature detectors.
A popular way to use this system is to have one or two PIR's outside on the wall of the house or garage set to channel four, these only ever chime, then have door and window sensors that can chime in the day but change to an alarm situation at night, please contact us for advice.

Q) Decide if it would be benificial to have a water or temperature detector within the system.
A) This system has the options for water sensors, temperature sensors together with the normal PIR's & Door Contacts, so you can be warned about water leaks, high or low temperatures together at the same time as having an alert or alarm system.

Receivers!!
Q) After the chosen detector or detectors have been activated and they have sent a wireless signal back to the receiver, what would you like to happen?, (in normal operation you will get a chime and light showing which detector has been activated).
A) You can choose to have a chime/bleep or 100 Db siren coming from the receiver, dependant on which channel has been activated, and what type of detector has been triggered.

Q) Choose if you require any additional sirens or dialers connected to the receiver.
A) We can offer a couple of solutions using this XL-Wireless Driveway Alarm System, please see below:
1) Trigger indoor & outdoor sirens, these are wireless activated and plugged into a standard 13-amp wall socket, no need for a cable between the receiver and siren allowing it to be located in the most suitable location, this may be outside on a wall, or inside hidden inside a garage of ceiling.
2) Trigger dialers, these will send out pre-recorded voice or text messages to a selected number of land line or mobile telephone numbers, it is wireless triggered similar to the siren, simply plugged into a standard 13-amp socket and telephone extension lead (due in May 2010).
