Fuel Tank Security Systems

Fuel theft from domestic fuel tanks is now becoming an epidemic and we are receiving constant calls from our customers asking for information about our wireless fuel tank alarms.

With fuel prices rising, the recession biting even more and the police being under an awful lot of pressure trying to juggle their limited overstretched recources it is not going to get any better.
From the information our customers are giving us, it appears that most thefts are being carried out either during the day by very confident tricksters posing as delivery or maintenance staff or at night time in the very early hours.
We have also been informed that if the lids of the fuel tanks are locked, the locks or lids are simple removed causing expensive damage which is just adding to the cost of the stolen fuel.

Having listened to our customers we have now designed and introduced this range of simple affordable fuel tank alarm systems suitable for DIY installation, they consist of a battery powered magnetic contact kit that are secured underneath the fuel tank lid that will activate as soon as the lid is opened, some customers are now even choosing not to lock the lid to save possible damage.
When the lid is opened a wireless signal is sent back to the house which can be up to 200 metres (and more if required), once the signal arrives back at the house this can trigger the alarm system to send telephone messages, text messages, sirens, flashing lights (depending on what has been chosen).

CCTV

CCTV

CCTV is also useful in trying to identify the culprits for the police, even good quality decoy (dummy) CCTV can act as a deterrent but we would advise that this is always in addition to an alarm system.

We can offer a range of CCTV which will monitor or/and record the locations around the fuel tanks or a large range of good quality dummy cameras.

We are also working on a solar powered wireless recording system that will make the installation far easier.

The first question is do you want an alarm system, CCTV or perhaps both.

Most customers choose an alarm system first, as this is the first line of defence, our various wireless fuel tank alarm systems are all designed to be easily installed and can protect either the perimeter around the fuel tank, the opening lids of a tank or monitor the fuel inself using ultrasonic technology looking for a sudden drop or even a combination of all.

The wireless fuel tank alarms will all report back to receivers back in the house or office and can give you a choice of simple audible sirens to telephone & text messages going to you mobile telephones.

FAQ

Q) How far away can the fuel tank from the house (or location where the receiver is going to be located)
A) Most of our fuel tank alarms will transmit up to 200 metres (line of sight) but others in the range can transmit to over half a mile away.

Q) If I use the magnetic contact fuel tank alarm, what would you like to happen back at the receiver ?
A) Using a selection of receivers we can get a mixture of results ranging from a voice message being sent to multiple telephones, a text message being sent out to your mobile phone, a siren or flashing light being activated either with or without using the dialer options.

Q) Do you need a telephone line in the location of the receiver if we want a message being sent to our mobile phones ?
A) If you have a telephone line we can easily send out pre-recorded message to you which is the cheaper option, but if you have no telephone line we can still send you messages using GSM technology.

Q: Can you send a message to more than one telephone ?
A: Yes, we can send messages to 3 or 9 telephone numbers, depending on the system used.

Q) Do you have mains power in the location that you want to locate the receiver ?
The receivers needs to be plugged into a standard 13-amp wall socket, if you do not have mains we can use battery and solar power, please ask for advice.

Q) How about CCTV ?
A) CCTV is worthwhile in helping the police try to catch these criminals, and they will also act as a deterrent, but we would suggest this is as an addition to an alarm system rather than instead of.
